Lansky BladeMedic Review

Taken from amazon:

The Blademedic Knife Sharpener is the first Responder for Field Repairs on all types of Knife Blades. It’s like having an entire Sharpening Kit right in your Pocket. Able to tackle Regular or Serrated Blades, Gut Hooks, Hunting, Fishing, just about any Knife.

Normally I like coming up with my own description of products, but this one really hits the nail on the head here. I will be honest and say that I have only used this sharpener on a couple knives, but it worked for all of them.

I keep this sucker in my tackle box, and will be picking up another for my go bag. (I don’t have a full preppers go bag [maybe in the future], I just have one that I like for camping and/or hiking). It is made of all metal so its got some nice weight to it. I have used other sharpeners in the past that were made of plastic and felt flimsy and cheap. This feels solid and reliable, and it is.

The current prime price is $8.99 ($6.85 + shipping for non-prime), which is amazing in my opinion. I wouldn’t mind spending $20 on it to be honest. It is great at sharpening, has great construction and fits in your pocket.

I give this 4.5 stars out of 5

Pros:

  • sharpens all kinds of knives
  • metal/solid construction
  • pocket size
  • very affordable

Cons:

  • Difficult to sharpen very large knives (im talking machetes or something here)
  • Small, so sometimes its harder to hold (With gloves and stuff – but I have not had a whole lot of problems with this)
